Cordes Vineyard, which is just above the Napa Valley fog line, boasts rocky, volcanic soil with a hint of sand and clay. Because of its southern exposure, Cordes ripens early. Its small, concentrated berries possess a hint of dry herbs due to the surrounding wild rosemary and thyme. The natural drainage is exceptional, creating deeply-colored and concentrated berries. Our vineyard management team took over farming in 2016 and accomplished its goal of low yields which translated into highly-concentrated, powerful wine with a massive minerality to support it.
