Vineyards

Alpha Omega farms prized grapes from its own vineyards and from historic vineyards throughout Napa Valley, including our estate 1155 Vineyard, Thomas Vineyard, Sacrashe Vineyard and Beckstoffer Georges III in Rutherford, Newton Vineyard on Spring Mountain, Stricker Vineyard on Mount Veeder, Sunshine Valley Vineyard in Oak Knoll District, Cordes Vineyard and Stagecoach Vineyards® on Atlas Peak and Tench Vineyard and Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville. Utilizing fruit from nearly every appellation in Napa Valley, our winemaking team blends the essence of these exceptional terroirs ranging from valley floor, hillside, mountain and coast to bring complexity, depth and a wider range of aromatic profiles to our wines.

Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc
To Kalon, the most famous of Andy Beckstoffer’s vineyards, was originally planted in 1868 by Napa pioneer Hamilton Crabb and has produced some of the Napa Valley’s best red grapes ever since. Beckstoffer replanted the vineyards, located in Oakville, in 1994. Nestled at the edge of the Mayacamas Mountains in the center of Napa Valley, To Kalon receives just enough morning fog and full day sun to produce Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with complex layers of cassis, wild berries, licorice and spice.

Alpha Omega 1155 Vineyard

Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon
Obtaining its name from the street number of Alpha Omega winery, our 1155 Vineyard produces Sauvignon Blanc and a tiny bit of Semillon grapes. The vineyard’s 12 feet of heavy clay promotes natural water retention and a very deep root system that allows for vines to handle heat and ripen in a wonderful and slow way. The slow ripening allows for depth and fatness, not just aromatic expression in the wines.

Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot
Napa pioneer Dr. George Belden Crane originally planted Dr. Crane vineyard in 1858. It was acquired by Beckstoffer in 1997 and replanted in 1998. The vineyard’s location on the west side of St. Helena gives the vineyard its gravelly loam soils.

Thomas Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon
Named after engineer Don Thomas, Thomas Vineyard is on a western hillside in Rutherford and visible from Alpha Omega’s terrace. This Alpha Omega-owned property is set up as a vineyard laboratory with the latest technology to monitor the weather and water. An early-ripening site, Thomas boasts rocky soil with a higher sand content than on the valley floor. The result is a powerful wine with an elegant balance of structure and density.

Tench Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon
Tench Vineyard is situated at the corner of Oakville Cross and the Silverado Trail in eastern Oakville where the Vaca Mountains and valley floor meet to form the eastern Oakville bench. With volcanic deposits from the mountain range, this renowned, late-ripening vineyard is noted for its rocky, red, nutrient deficient soil that creates optimal vine stress, resulting in extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignon that is powerful yet balanced.

Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon
This 300-acre parcel in Rutherford was first bought by Beaulieu founder Georges de Latour in 1928. Purchased by Beckstoffer Vineyards in 1988, the vineyard has since been replanted using new Cabernet Sauvignon clones with tighter spacing and advanced trellising systems thus enhancing quality.

Stricker Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay
George Drew originally purchased this property in 1889 from the US government. In 1986, architect Larry Stricker bought it and planted vines. Acquired by Alpha Omega in 2015, Stricker Vineyard sits 1,000-1,500 feet in the Mount Veeder AVA. Known for its rocky, well drained soils and steep slopes, the site produces full bodied, concentrated, ageable wines.

Stagecoach Vineyards®

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot
The Krupp family developed Stagecoach Vineyards®, perched on Atlas Peak, in 1995 at 1,800 feet in altitude. The rocky, volcanic terroir and well-drained soils are perfect growing conditions for hillside fruit. On the plateau of Atlas Peak, this high-altitude vineyard receives a constant cooling breeze. Late ripening helps create extracted yet well-balanced wines.

Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon
Missouri Hopper Vineyard was a portion of the historic Vine Hill Ranch located in the Oakville AVA. This is at the hourglass of Napa Valley, giving it a cooler climate than neighboring To Kalon Vineyard due to the influence of the Bay. Missouri Hopper yields Cabernet Sauvignon that has a balance of ripeness with finesse and elegance.

Cordes Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon
Located atop Atlas Peak, Cordes Vineyard sits firmly on rocky, volcanic sub-soils covered with sand and clay. Aided by its southern exposure and natural drainage, this site ripens concentrated, deeply colored, aromatic grapes with hints of dry herbs from the surrounding wild rosemary.

Sleeping Lady Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc
Sleeping Lady Vineyard, in the southernmost part of western Yountville, is named for the shape of the distinct foothills of the Mayacamas Mountain range behind the property that is cooled by afternoon strong breezes from the San Pablo Bay. An innovative trellis system allows for an even distribution of light and air on both sides of the canopy, thus promoting uniform ripening of the berries in our multiple blocks.

Sacrashe Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon
Sacrashe Vineyard sits high in the eastern hills of Rutherford at an elevation of 780 feet. A marine layer in early morning drapes the vineyard during the growing season, cooling the vines and allowing the clusters time to achieve ideal ripeness while preserving organic acidity and phenols. Composted volcanic ash lies below the sandy loam soil where low-yielding vines produce small berries that are concentrated with intense flavors and tannin, resulting in rich and complex wines.

Sunshine Valley Vineyard

Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc
Oak Knoll District Sunshine Valley Vineyard was originally named Hillview Vineyard. It is located on the western side of Highway 29 in the Oak Knoll District AVA. The vineyard is a colder climate site pushing the grapes to ripen slowly and allowing the aromas and tannins to ripen at the same pace as the brix. In addition, the deep soils give amazing complexity and structure.
