Music, Wine, and Community: Songwriters in Paradise Raises $100,000 at Alpha Omega and Beyond
Some evenings are simply unforgettable. On a warm April night on the Rutherford Bench, the Alpha Omega estate became something more than a winery. It became a stage, a gathering place, and a moment of genuine community.
Songwriters in Paradise (SIP) concluded its four-night Napa Valley run on April 24, 2022, with organizers announcing the event had collectively raised $100,000 for nonprofit organizations. Alpha Omega was proud to serve as one of four host venues alongside Frank Family Winery, Silver Oak Winery, and Brasswood Cellars.
The Story Behind the Songs
SIP is not a traditional concert series. It is something rarer and more intimate. The event spotlights the writers behind the songs, inviting singer-songwriters to share the stories and craft that brought their lyrics to life. These are the artists who write for and alongside names like Luke Combs, Lady A, and Keith Urban. On stage at Alpha Omega, that circle of storytellers included Patrick Davis, the founder and organizer of SIP, performing alongside Channing Wilson and Jedd Hughes.
There is something deeply resonant about that format. At Alpha Omega, we believe the story behind what is in your glass matters just as much as the wine itself. The terroir of Rutherford, the hands that tend the vines, the decisions made in the cellar, all of it shapes what you experience. Songwriters in Paradise approaches music the same way, honoring the craft and the people behind the art.
Additionally, Tim Nichols, a Grammy winner and Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame inductee, performed at the Alpha Omega estate alongside Tyler Reeve and Kristian Bush. It was an extraordinary evening.
Giving Back to the Valley
The $100,000 raised through Songwriters in Paradise will benefit several organizations close to the hearts of those who call this Valley home. Recipients include the Notes for Education Foundation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Helena and Calistoga, and the St. Helena Fire Department.
For Robin and Michelle Baggett, this kind of community investment is not a gesture. It is a practice. Since founding Alpha Omega in 2006, the Baggetts have made giving back to Napa Valley a cornerstone of who this winery is. From Auction Napa Valley to the annual Season of Giving Toy Drive, from the V Foundation Wine Celebration supporting cancer research to Festival Napa Valley’s performing arts education programs, our commitment to the Napa Valley community runs deep and runs true.
Hosting Songwriters in Paradise was a natural extension of that commitment. Music, like wine, has the power to bring people together around something larger than themselves. On a spring evening at our estate on the Rutherford Bench, that is exactly what happened.
An Estate Built for Evenings Like This
There is a reason evenings at Alpha Omega feel different. The landmark fountains, the tranquil pond, the sweeping views of the Mayacamas Mountains, our estate on Mee Lane at Highway 29 is designed not just for wine tasting but for genuine connection. It is the kind of place where a songwriter’s story and a first sip of Rutherford Cabernet can both stop you in your tracks.
Walk-ins are welcome when availability allows, and we invite guests to explore our tasting experiences and discover the estate for themselves. Whether you are a first-time visitor to Napa Valley or a longtime friend of the family, there is always something worth savoring here. Furthermore, well-behaved, leashed dogs are always welcome on the estate.
Songwriters in Paradise Continues
Following its successful Napa Valley run, SIP announced an inaugural four-day event in Healdsburg, scheduled for July 20 through 23, 2022. Tickets and information are available at SongwritersInParadise.com.
Meanwhile, the spirit of that April evening at Alpha Omega lives on. It was a reminder of why this Valley is so extraordinary, not just for its world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, but for its community, its generosity, and its belief that the best things in life are best shared.
