The Baggett Ranch BBQ: Celebrating Alpha Omega’s 20th Anniversary

Twenty years is not a milestone. It is a relationship. On June 28, 2026, Alpha Omega Winery marked two decades on the Rutherford Bench not with a formal dinner or a ribbon cutting, but with fire, fruitwood, friends, and the most personal expression of the Baggett family’s values: the Baggett Ranch “Almost World Famous” BBQ COW & HOG.

Founded by Robin and Michelle Baggett in 2006, Alpha Omega has spent twenty years handcrafting wines from Napa Valley’s most celebrated vineyard sites. This evening honored the people who made those years possible: collectors, partners, team members, and the extended family that has gathered around every bottle, every harvest, every chapter since the beginning.

Where the Evening Began

Guests arrived to a glass of Alpha Omega Chardonnay on the winery’s iconic Fountain Terrace, a threshold between the familiar and what the evening would become. From there, the estate transformed into Western Town, a curated gathering of wine stations, craft beers poured by third-generation California firefighters of Fire Engine 29, and the sounds of Gin and Boots, led by Erik Yates of Hot Buttered Rum, whose music moved through the vineyard rows like the evening itself, unhurried and alive.

One of the evening’s defining moments arrived early: the Bosworth Hat Bar, featuring handcrafted western hats from Bosworth Hat Company, established in 1911. Each guest selected their style and hatband before it was custom branded to commemorate Alpha Omega’s 20th Anniversary. It was the kind of detail that Robin and Michelle do not call a gesture. They call it a gift.

Fire, Fruitwood, and Four Sixes

The reveal arrived on the Vineyard Terrace: Robin Baggett’s signature whole hog, slow-smoked fourteen hours over fruitwood and hickory in the tradition of a Southern Pig Pick’en. The Baggett family’s roots in ranching run deep. Their longtime support of Napa Valley 4-H and youth agriculture programs reflects a conviction that the next generation deserves to know where their food comes from, and to feel proud of that knowledge.

Joining the table was beef from Four Sixes Ranch (6666), one of America’s most storied cattle operations, founded in 1872. Tomahawk steaks prepared over an open flame served as the evening’s second centerpiece. Attending on behalf of Four Sixes Ranch was co-owner and CEO of 101 Studios David Glasser, executive producer of the Yellowstone television franchise. The presence of Four Sixes was not incidental. Ranching culture, land stewardship, and an honest table have always been part of how the Baggetts understand the world.

A Menu Built for Twenty Years

Napa Valley Chef Camille Jeanty and Sonoma Chef Jesse McQuarrie gave shape to the evening across seven chef-curated stations. The experience concluded with Chef Camille’s Madeleine’s Macarons spectacular 20th Anniversary macaron tower, a sweet marker for a milestone built on anything but sweetness alone.

Throughout the evening, Head Winemaker Melissa Paris curated a selection of Alpha Omega wines to complement the ranch-inspired menu while mapping Napa Valley’s remarkable breadth of terroir. Library vintages were poured alongside current releases, a quiet proof of what twenty years of cellar-worthy winemaking looks like when it opens.

What Twenty Years Sounds Like

“Celebrating Alpha Omega’s 20th Anniversary with this special gathering honors the people who have shared this journey with us,” said founders Robin and Michelle Baggett. “It is a joy to bring together our team, collectors, partners, and friends for an evening that reflects the values that have guided Alpha Omega from the very beginning: creating meaningful experiences that bring people together.”

Those values, stated simply, are also the most difficult to sustain across two decades of harvest, drought, wildfire season, and market change. The Baggetts have sustained them. The evening was the proof.

A Year of Celebration

The Baggett Ranch BBQ is one of several signature experiences commemorating Alpha Omega’s 20th Anniversary throughout 2026. Each one returns to the same source: exceptional wine, meaningful relationships, and an estate that has always been more home than winery to the people who know it well.

If you have not visited the estate in Rutherford, or if it has been too long, this is the year to return. Reserve a tasting, open something worth opening, and raise a glass to twenty years on the Bench.

To becoming the next twenty.
