Our Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2022 was handcrafted from a collection of vineyards that celebrate the diversity of terroirs in Napa Valley. From mountain-grown fruit on Atlas Peak and Spring Mountain to hillside fruit from Rutherford and valley-floor fruit from the Oak Knoll District, this wine creates an evocative sense of place that could only be Napa Valley. Aged 18 months in French oak, it is a structured, ageable wine.

Proprietary Red Napa Valley 2022
One of Alpha Omega's signature wines since 2006, the blend of varieties in Proprietary Red changes each year based on the influences of Mother Nature. Showcasing the blending prowess of our winemaking team, the 2022 unites all five classic Bordeaux varieties from an array of our top vineyards: 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 19% Malbec, 15% Petit Verdot, and 6% Cabernet Franc.

THE VINTAGE
Significant rain in December and relatively dry, mild conditions through March created an early bud break. Alternating periods of warm and cool weather led to steady summer conditions that prevailed until the first week of September, when temperatures rose significantly. Cooler weather after the heat spell allowed our hillside and south valley vineyards to recover, and the grapes were harvested in great condition. Overall quality is excellent, with wines showing a broad spectrum of aromas and flavors.

TASTING NOTES
Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
NOSE: Fresh fruit aromas of blackberry, boysenberry and red currant are mixed with aromas of nutmeg, violets and fig.
PALATE: Medium-full-bodied, bright, bold flavors of blackberry and dark cherry are complemented by notes of dark earth, anise and mocha.

Proprietary Red 2022
NOSE: Forward, ripe aromas of dark cherry, plum and cassis accented by notes of fennel, purple flowers and sweet tobacco.
PALATE: Medium-full-bodied, broad, bright flavors of cherry, mulberry and red currant are further enhanced by flavors of tobacco and graham cracker.
