Left Bank Napa Valley 2023

VINTAGE NOTES
2023 is an exceptional vintage marked by one of the longest growing seasons in over a decade. Significant winter rains followed by a warm dry spring supported healthy canopy growth through bloom. Cooler weather prevailed throughout the rest of the growing season, aided by abundant sunshine that enabled grapes to ripen slowly and reach perfect maturity. The long growing season and extended “hang time” for grapes has produced wines with stunning, complex flavors and the structure for long-term aging.

VINEYARD SOURCES
The Left Bank of Bordeaux, which includes the Medoc and Graves growing regions, has produced some of the greatest red wines in modern history. Our winemakers pay homage to these heralded regions of Bordeaux, handcrafting a wine made with the same classic varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot sourced from top vineyards in the Napa Valley. Each year, Mother Nature creates a unique combination of growing conditions that affects each of these varieties and vineyards differently, empowering our winemakers to find the ideal blend that perfectly reflects Napa Valley and the vintage.

WINEMAKING
Left Bank 2023 is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Barrel fermented in 80% French oak barriques, 50% new and 20% fermented in stainless steel tanks, this wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barriques, 50% were new.

TASTING NOTES
Sight: Opaque ruby, deep red rim

Nose: Pure fruit aromas of black cherry, blackberry and cassis augmented by notes of graphite, dried tobacco and purple flowers.

Palate: Bright focused flavors of black cherry, pomegranate and fig mixed with brown sugar, roasted nut and black pepper.
