ERA will always be the first wine we craft. As each lot of red grapes arrive at the winery, our winemakers select only the very best from our extraordinary collection of vineyards, which always includes some of the most sought after, historic vineyards in the Napa Valley. Given the unique climate characteristics each year, the list of single vineyards that comprise ERA changes, empowering the winemaking team to find the perfect combination of vineyards that vividly illustrates the vintage.

Cabernet Sauvignon is the backbone of ERA, a grape that thrives on the hillsides, valley floor and mountain tops of Napa Valley. We are discovering that small additions of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec are becoming important components of the final blend and will take ERA to even higher levels of excellence.

Our commitment to environmentally sensitive farming practices in all the vineyards we farm guarantees our winemakers have access to the highest quality grapes possible.

ERA is always 100% barrel fermented in the finest French oak, sourced from a select number of highly regarded coopers in France.

As pioneers in barrel fermentation, we can attest to the dramatic integration of flavors and tannins that provide early accessibility, further enhanced by significant aging potential. As we revisit older vintages of ERA, we are continually encouraged by the evolution of these wines and excited about their future.

Our first vintage of ERA in 2006 symbolized “a new era” in Napa Valley wines. Since then, we’re proud to have been a part of one of the most exciting periods in Napa Valley winemaking history and we’re dedicated to producing a wine each year that promises to tell an incredibly compelling story of the vintage and the Napa Valley.
