Alpha Omega Winery Named One of the 9 Best Wineries to Visit in Napa This Summer

Travel writer Mark Fang of TravelAwaits has named Alpha Omega Winery one of nine fantastic wineries to visit in Napa Valley during the summer. Among the valley’s most celebrated estates, Alpha Omega earned the top spot on his list. Fang called it “a must-visit for any wine lover.”

We are deeply grateful for the recognition. Summers on the Rutherford Bench are something special. The warm days, the Mayacamas Mountains rising to the west, the fountains catching the afternoon light , it is a setting that invites you to slow down and truly be present.

A Summer Setting Like No Other

Fang photographed our landmark fountains and wrote warmly about the outdoor terrace overlooking the vineyards. Located just off Highway 29 between Rutherford and St. Helena, our estate welcomes guests into a setting that feels far removed from the ordinary. The tranquil pond, the mountain views, the sound of water , these are the details our guests return to again and again.

Summer days here are rich with sunshine. The vines work hard in the warm afternoon heat. Meanwhile, cool nights and morning fog drifting in from San Pablo Bay give them peaceful rest. It is this balance , warmth and restraint , that defines the terroir of the Rutherford Bench and finds its way into every bottle we produce.

Furthermore, our estate is dog-friendly and family-friendly. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are always welcome. Children are welcome too, with proper supervision. Walk-ins are accommodated when availability allows, making Alpha Omega an accessible destination for spontaneous summer days in the valley.

Luau on the Lawn and a Summer Full of Events

Fang highlighted our Luau on the Lawn as one of his favorite summer events in all of Napa Valley. It is easy to understand why. Polynesian-inspired cuisine, live dance performances, and an evening spent with our award-winning wines beneath the open sky , it is an experience that belongs in a category of its own.

Beyond the Luau, our summer calendar includes barbecue wine pairings at the Baggett Ranch, Italian wine pairing dinners, and a celebration of Hispanic Heritage. Every event features live music. Every event is seated. And every event is built around one simple idea: sharing something extraordinary with people who appreciate it.

Indeed, these gatherings are not simply events. They are expressions of who Robin and Michelle Baggett are as vintners and as members of this community. To explore what is coming up on our estate calendar, visit our upcoming events at Alpha Omega.

Wines Crafted from Napa Valley’s Most Celebrated Terroir

What makes summer at Alpha Omega so memorable is what is in the glass. Our wines are handcrafted by Head Winemaker Melissa Paris and Consulting Winemaker Andy Erickson from some of Napa Valley’s most storied vineyard sites. These include our own estate 1155 Vineyard on the Rutherford Bench, Beckstoffer To Kalon in Oakville, and high-altitude sites on Atlas Peak and Mount Veeder, among others.

Each wine carries the specific character of its origin. The Rutherford Bench delivers wines of earthy elegance and silken tannins. Atlas Peak, a rocky amphitheater at nearly 2,000 feet in the Vaca Mountains, produces Cabernet with graphite, well-defined fruit, and a vibrant personality. Mount Veeder, with its extreme conditions and proximity to San Pablo Bay, yields wines of intense concentration and mountain spice. Each place has its own voice. Melissa Paris listens closely to all of them.

A Family-Owned Estate With Deep Roots in Napa Valley

Alpha Omega was founded in 2006 by Robin and Michelle Baggett with a simple but ambitious conviction: that the finest vineyards in Napa Valley, tended with care and crafted without compromise, could produce wines that belong among the world’s best. Nearly two decades later, that conviction has proven itself in the bottle, in the vineyard, and in the community.

Robin and Michelle’s commitment extends well beyond the cellar. Alpha Omega is a longtime supporter of Auction Napa Valley, the V Foundation Wine Celebration for cancer research, Festival Napa Valley, and Music in the Vineyards, among other causes. To learn more about the Baggetts’ dedication to the Napa Valley community, visit our philanthropy page.

Additionally, Alpha Omega operates almost entirely on solar power and holds Napa Green certification for both land and winery. Caring for this land is not a policy. It is a practice that runs through everything we do.

Plan Your Summer Visit

Summer in Napa Valley moves quickly. The vineyards are luminous. The evenings are long and warm. The wine is at its most inviting when shared outdoors, with music in the air and the mountains holding the light.

Alpha Omega is located at 1155 Mee Lane at Highway 29 in Rutherford, just minutes from St. Helena. Walk-ins are welcome when availability allows. For a seamless experience, we recommend reserving in advance, especially during the busy summer season.

We would love to welcome you to our estate this summer.
