Reserve Chardonnay Napa Valley 2023

Vintage Notes:
2023 is an exceptional vintage marked by one of the longest growing seasons in over a decade. Significant winter rains followed by a warm dry spring supported healthy canopy growth through bloom. Cooler weather throughout the rest of the growing season, aided by abundant sunshine, enabled grapes to ripen slowly and reach perfect maturity. Harvest for white grapes began in early September and the finished wines show remarkable freshness and purity combined with an ideal balance of acidity and fruit.

The pinnacle of Alpha Omega’s Chardonnay program, our Chardonnay Reserve undergoes the same meticulous and painstaking selection process that produces our flagship red wine, ERA. Each vintage, our winemakers thoughtfully taste every lot of our exceptional Chardonnay vineyards multiple times, evaluating the nuances of each barrel, looking for those few barrels that define the vintage. Guided by our winemakers’ experience and the impact of Mother Nature, each year becomes a quest for greatness.

Blend: 100% Chardonnay

Fermentation: 100% barrel fermented in French oak puncheons, 60% new; partial malolactic fermentation

Aging: 19 months in French oak puncheons, 60% new, “sur lies fines”

Sight: Medium yellow gold

Nose: Rich, forward aromas of golden delicious apple, banana and grapefruit, with notes of toasted nuts and pie crust.

Palate: Medium full-bodied flavors of apricot, lemon lime and blood orange accentuated by brioche, macadamia nut and cashew.
