Cabernet Sauvignon Yountville AVA 2023
Yountville's southerly position in Napa Valley benefits from cool afternoon winds flowing in from nearby Carneros, along with extended foggy summer mornings. Together, these conditions create a long, temperate growing season ideal for Bordeaux varieties. The grapes for this wine come primarily from valley-floor vineyards rooted in gravelly silt loams and alluvial soils, and the blend of 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc was aged 18 months in French oak.

Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder AVA 2023
Known as the "Napa Redwoods," Mount Veeder is located in the southern end of the Mayacamas Mountains just west of the town of Napa. The appellation reaches over 2,500 feet, with many vineyards on steep hillsides surrounded by forest that covers 85% of the appellation. The dense forest, high-altitude vineyards, and proximity to San Pablo Bay make this a cool region with a long growing season. Grapes for this wine came primarily from the steep, central part of the AVA, and the blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Malbec was aged 18 months in French oak.

THE VINTAGE
2023 is an exceptional vintage marked by one of the longest growing seasons in over a decade. Significant winter rains followed by a warm, dry spring supported healthy canopy growth through bloom. Cooler weather prevailed throughout the rest of the season, aided by abundant sunshine that enabled grapes to ripen slowly and reach perfect maturity. The extended "hang time" produced wines with stunning, complex flavors and the structure for long-term aging.

NOSE: Expressive aromas of black cherry, cassis and boysenberry enhanced by cocoa, eucalyptus and violets.
PALATE: Rich, full-bodied flavors of blackberry, plum and black cherry with notes of chocolate truffle and anise.

NOSE: Complex aromas of boysenberry and blackberry mixed with dark earth, sage, purple flowers and gooseberry.
PALATE: Concentrated, medium-full-bodied flavors of blackberry and black cherry enhanced by peppercorn, anise, Earl Grey tea and hoisin.
