Alpha Omega was named one of the best Napa Valley wineries to visit by Food & Wine. The recognition speaks to something we have worked toward since Robin and Michelle Baggett founded this estate in 2006: a place where extraordinary wine and genuine hospitality meet.

Food & Wine recently set out to identify the best wineries to visit across all of Napa Valley, from the rolling hills of Carneros in the south to the volcanic peaks near Calistoga in the north. The list spans the full range of what makes Napa Valley wine country so endlessly compelling. Alpha Omega earned its place among the top ten.
The editors highlighted our reputation for high-end, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons sourced from some of Napa Valley’s most celebrated properties. They called out Beckstoffer To Kalon in Oakville and Beckstoffer Dr. Crane in St. Helena by name. In addition, they recognized something that our own guests discover again and again: our white and rosé bottlings are equally remarkable.

Food & Wine’s recognition centers on our single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons. These are wines rooted in specific places, each one a precise expression of the land that produced it.
Beckstoffer To Kalon sits at the heart of Oakville, one of the most hallowed stretches of vineyard land in all of California. Its deep, rich soils and the dramatic shift from valley-floor loam near Highway 29 to rockier volcanic ground near the Silverado Trail create conditions that yield wines of extraordinary power and grace. Head Winemaker Melissa Paris describes wines from this legendary terroir as wines that are “steeped in the essence of its legendary terroir, a masterpiece of power and grace that captivates from the first sip to the last.”
Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, located in St. Helena, brings a different character entirely. The soils here deliver Cabernet Sauvignon with silken tannins, concentrated dark fruit, and a structural grace that rewards years in the cellar. Both vineyards represent the very best of what Napa Valley’s single-vineyard program can offer.

Beyond Cabernet: Whites and Rosés Worth Seeking Out
Food & Wine made a point of noting our white and rosé bottlings, and rightly so. Our estate Sauvignon Blanc, grown from old vines planted in 1993 in the deep clay soils directly in front of the winery on Highway 29, is a wine unlike anything else in Napa Valley. Melissa Paris describes it as “a crisp breeze through a citrus grove, a radiant expression of purity and elegance with delicate complexity.”
The 2023 vintage was exceptional for whites in particular. A long, cool growing season brought slow, even ripening and a rare freshness that is becoming the signature of truly great Napa Valley vintages. Indeed, the result is a Sauvignon Blanc with vibrant acidity, pure fruit expression, and a finish that lingers with mineral grace.
