“The pursuit of perfection in winemaking is a never-ending journey,
always striving to create something extraordinary.” — Robert Mondavi
Alpha Omega farms prized grapes in virtually all of Napa Valley’s sub-AVAs, including Rutherford, Oakville, St. Helena, Spring Mountain District, Atlas Peak, Mount Veeder and Carneros that include valley floor, hillside and mountain terroirs. In addition to Signature Napa Valley and AVA Series wines, Alpha Omega produces Single Vineyard wines from some of Napa Valley’s most renowned vineyards. ERA, our flagship wine is a perfectly matched union of all-star Single Vineyards each year that best illustrate the characteristics of their AVA’s terroir.

Handcrafting world class wine begins in the vineyard with intuitive, experienced hand tending of grapes, guided by the weather conditions that Mother Nature presents each year. Every Alpha Omega vineyard is farmed with an emphasis on yearlong individual vine management combined with sustainable and regenerative farming techniques resulting in lower yields of perfectly ripe, high-quality grapes that dramatically express the essence of each vineyard’s unique characteristics.
Year long, hand tending of Alpha Omega’s sustainably farmed vineyards culminates at harvest. Grapes are carefully handpicked in the middle of the night into small yellow bins that protect the integrity of each bunch of grapes. Cool night temperatures preserve the freshly picked grapes for their short journey to the winery for prompt processing. Watch this video of night harvest in Alpha Omega’s Thomas vineyard.

One of only 90 Napa Valley wineries to receive Napa Green certification, Alpha Omega’s sustainability focus continues in the winery.
As red grapes arrive, they are expertly sorted by an energy efficient, environmentally sensitive state-of-the-art optical sorter. The optical sorter evaluates each grape’s ripeness compared to the winemakers’ strict parameters thus eliminating all but the most superior grapes.
Barrel fermentation has been a key part of handcrafting Alpha Omega wine that began with the winery’s first vintage in 2006.
This traditional style of fermentation is a very labor intensive process as each barrel undergoes it’s own fermentation rather than fermenting in a large stainless steel tank.
Barrel fermentation produces dramatic integration of flavors and tannins in the wine that provide early accessibility and significant aging potential.

Using only the finest French oak, our winemakers carefully select barrels from several of France’s finest barrel makers. Alpha Omega is one of the only wineries in the Napa Valley to have a full-time barrel cooper to oversee barrel maintenance. Constant attention is paid to the evolution of the wine in each barrel, providing insights for the winemaking team to determine its final destination. The expertise and art of blending these barrels is a cornerstone of creating consistency and quality in every wine produced by Alpha Omega.
