On the palate: explosive entry layers of plum, cassis, blackberries and blue fruits with a generous vein of toasty oak

Fermentation: 100% barrel fermentation

Aging: 28 months in a combination of 70% new, 30% second-year Radoux, Sylvain, Darnajou and Vicard 225L French oak barriques

Vineyards: 33% Beckstoffer To Kalon, 31% Sunshine Valley, 15% Beckstoffer Las Piedras, 9% Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, 6% Beckstoffer Georges III, 6% Stagecoach

Winemaker Notes: 2012 proved to be a unique and outstanding vintage due to a bountiful harvest. The growing season was ideal with no frost, a mild spring and a very temperate, long ripening period. This allowed all varietals to ripen to their optimum condition with significant concentration and complexity. Winemakers who simply applied recipes had a challenging year as tannin levels were at twice the average level.
