Based on multiple vintages of experimentation, we became convinced that a specific block of our Stricker Vineyard on Mt. Veeder merited its own bottling. Named “Drew” in honor of the property’s originator, the parcel known in the cellar as “A2” represents the oldest vines on the estate. Planted on a vertigo-inducing, north-facing slope bordered by a cool forest of ferns, oak and madrone, the site demands patience for ripeness. The result is intense flavors, thick skins and some of the most deeply colored Cabernet fruit in our cellar.
